MMA Live (also referred to as MMA LIVE, “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Liam Mooney as a sole proprietor in British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how MMA Live handles personal information when you use the app.
1. Information You Provide
Account information may include your email address, username, date of birth, name or other authentication metadata you provide, referral information, and a password handled by Supabase Auth. Optional authentication metadata may include address fields if you choose to provide them; address information is not required for normal use of the current app.
Profile information may include an avatar or photo, favourite fighter, profile status, privacy preferences, and other optional profile fields supported by the app.
2. Activity and Social Information
We process information created through your use of MMA Live, including fight predictions; Fantasy selections, scores, and leaderboards; league creation, descriptions, membership, virtual-coin entry and payment accounting; Party Room membership, chat messages, GIF selections and searches, and reactions; friendships and follows; reports and blocks; matchmaking submissions and votes; notification and read state; streaks and badges; and virtual-coin balances and ledger activity.
3. Avatar and Photo Processing
MMA Live accesses your camera or photo library only when you choose to take or select an avatar. The selected image is sent to MMA Live’s backend and checked for inappropriate content using OpenAI’s automated moderation service. If approved, the avatar is stored using Supabase Storage. Automated moderation may not identify every inappropriate image.
4. Push Notifications
If you allow notifications, MMA Live obtains an Expo push token and associates it with your account so app notifications can be delivered. You can control notification permission through your device settings.
5. Party Room GIF Services
Party Room GIF search may send the words you search for to Klipy through MMA Live’s backend. MMA Live does not send your MMA Live password to Klipy.
6. Service Providers and Data Sources
MMA Live currently uses Supabase for authentication, database, storage, realtime features, and backend functions; Expo for app and push-notification infrastructure; OpenAI for avatar moderation; and Klipy for GIF search. These providers process information as needed to provide their services.
Cito is used separately as a backend sports-data source and does not ordinarily receive normal MMA Live user-account data from the app. External news and sports sources may also provide content or data displayed or linked by MMA Live.
6A. Website Launch List
If you submit your email address through the launch-notification form on mmaliveapp.com, MMA Live uses it to send launch and product updates that you requested. This website mailing list is separate from normal mobile-app account operation. MailerLite processes these email addresses on MMA Live’s behalf as the mailing-list provider. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email.
7. Analytics and Advertising
The current launch version does not include an active behavioural analytics SDK, advertising SDK, AdMob integration, or cross-app tracking, and does not request Apple’s advertising tracking permission. If these practices change, this policy will be updated as appropriate.
8. Device Permissions
MMA Live currently requests camera and photo-library permission for optional avatar selection and notification permission for push notifications. It does not currently request location, contacts, microphone, or advertising tracking permission.
9. How Information Is Used
We use information to create and operate accounts; personalize profiles; provide predictions, Fantasy, leagues, leaderboards, Party Rooms, and social features; deliver notifications; moderate content and review reports; provide blocking and safety controls; prevent abuse, fraud, and manipulation; maintain virtual-coin and league accounting; provide support; meet legal obligations; and maintain the security and reliability of the service.
10. Moderation, Reports, and Blocking
Users can report profiles or users and individual Party Room messages. Reports and related details are stored for moderation review. A report does not guarantee that content will be removed or that a specific action will be taken.
Users can also block another user. Blocking restricts normal social interaction and content from a blocked user may be hidden. Blocking does not necessarily remove either person from every shared space, including a common Party Room. MMA Live does not currently offer an automated appeals system or promise continuous moderation.
11. Account Deletion and Retention
You can request account deletion through Profile settings. The deletion process removes your Supabase Auth account and most associated profile and activity data. Limited information may be retained where necessary for financial or reconciliation integrity, abuse and security prevention, dispute handling, or legal obligations.
Retained records may include coin-ledger records, league entry-payment records, and deactivated paid-league reconciliation records where applicable. Identifiers in retained records may remain only as opaque or de-identified reconciliation references where applicable and are not used as an active profile. MMA Live attempts to remove stored avatar files during deletion, but technical cleanup may occasionally be delayed. We do not promise that every record is erased immediately, and no fixed retention period is stated where one has not been established.
12. Security
MMA Live uses technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service. No system or method of transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
13. Age Requirement
MMA Live is intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older. You must confirm that you meet this requirement when creating an account.
14. International Processing
MMA Live and its service providers may process information outside your province, territory, or country depending on their infrastructure. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction’s laws.
15. Privacy Rights and Questions
Subject to applicable law, including Canadian privacy principles where applicable, you may contact MMA Live to ask about personal information held about you, request correction where appropriate, ask questions about our privacy practices, or request account deletion. Rights can vary by jurisdiction and circumstance.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as MMA Live, its providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will display a revised “Last updated” date.
